You have to get up pretty early in the morning to beat Tammy Christie to work. As the sole custodian for the President’s House and the Parking Customer Services Office at 523 South Division St, she starts each day at about 5:30 a.m.—and even earlier if needed for special projects. Occasionally you’ll also find her helping out at the Undergraduate Science Building.
A U-M staff member for almost 12 years, Tammy is continually inspired by seeing students pursuing their degrees and doing something better for themselves. She’s proud to play a crucial role at the President’s House. Learning about the history of the house and its occupants has been one of her favorite parts of the job over the years.
When she’s not busy caring for two distinct U-M buildings, you can find Tammy scrapbooking, sewing, coloring and working on her family’s history. Her biggest joy, though, is all things Disney. She and her husband love going to Disney World and on Disney cruises.
From all of us in B&F, thank you, Tammy! Without your commitment, dedication and professionalism, many others – from LTP staff to the President – couldn’t do their jobs well. We appreciate you!
