It’s hard to believe I have been here over seven months. It’s been a great beginning and I really feel like I’m starting to learn my way around.
I am pleased to report that we have created a new B&F Strategic Plan, which my senior team presented at the Business and Finance Expanded Forum on October 22, 2015. We introduced our four new Strategic Goals for Business and Finance, in a fresh and simplified format. They are Say Yes, Workplace,Leadership and Stewardship. Underneath each goal are a number of initiatives, and each initiative is then implemented by measurable tactics. I hope you can see yourself in these goals and I welcome your feedback about these changes.
Many of us attended or watched the President’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Assembly this week. I thought the contributions were thought-provoking and that the moderator, Clarence Page, did an excellent job. If you would like to see videos used during the event or contribute to the university’s conversation, please visit the Be Heard webpage. Thanks again to the B&F Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Planning Leads for helping us with the B&F planning process. I hope each and every one of you takes the opportunity to contribute your thoughts and ideas through the fall and winter.
Since the summer I have been meeting B&F staff through Ice Cream Socials and I truly want to thank you for your warm welcome. I look forward to continuing to meet the rest of you, though we might switch to a different treat as the weather gets colder. Speaking of the weather, having heard words of warning, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the beauty and warmth of this fall.
I always enjoy hearing from you; please feel free to drop me a line with your questions or observations.
