Last week we welcomed our newly elected regents, Paul Brown and Jordan Acker, to their first Board of Regents meeting. Both of these impressive elected representatives are U-M alums and are very excited to be serving the people of Michigan in this important role. Jordan Acker has the unique distinction of being the first regent to graduate from college in this century! They are both very friendly and approachable so if you see them on campus please welcome and thank them for their public service.
And speaking of service, I want to give a huge shout-out to F&O’s Moving and Trucking team for their help with Michigan Law’s recent Meet the Employers event! The team moved more than 200 boxes to and from Michigan Stadium so that law firms and other prospective employers had the materials they needed to inform students about future career job opportunities. What a great example of how B&F staff support students and the university’s educational mission. You can see pics of the event on our website. Moving and Trucking: YOU ROCK!!!
Lastly, I had the chance this week to meet a group of B&F staff at one of my regular breakfasts. At these very informal events, we go around the table and ask folks to share a little about what they do, what they like best about their jobs and what’s important to them outside of work. I am convinced that the “secret sauce” of this university is how much heart each of you puts into your work. These conversations always remind me that what I like best about my job is that I get to work with such wonderful and talented people. Thank you!!
With much appreciation and gratitude,
P.S., Please post for staff who don’t have regular access to email.
