A key goal of creating a positive organization is to invest in our people. We want everyone in B&F to feel that they matter and feel that their individual growth and development is supported. One great example is the Facilities & Operations’ EWOC Program, which stands for Employees Working Out of Classification. Participants in the program have the opportunity to explore other career paths through a unique, hands-on experience of another job or function. Over the years, the EWOC program has produced some fantastic results. You can learn more about the impact of this program on our website and you can also watch a great EWOC video that features the stories of several former custodians who have transitioned successfully into new fields. Thank you to everyone who makes this wonderful program possible—EWOCs ROCK!!
It’s time once again for the annual Blood Battle against Ohio State, where the U-M and OSU communities compete to see which campus can collect the most pints of blood. We’ve won consecutively for the last seven years, so let’s try to maintain our winning streak! If you’re able to participate, please sign up to donate here, you just may save a life!
Last, but not least, I want to give a HUGE shout-out to all of our teams that worked hard to keep our campus safe during the snowstorms this week (see some cool pictures of our Grounds Services crew at work here). Winter came early this year, but our campus community was able to go about its business without any significant negative impacts. Thanks to everyone involved in keeping our walkways and parking structures safe, and our buildings warm. Go Blue!
With much appreciation and gratitude,
P.S., Please post for staff who don’t have regular access to email.
