From Kevin’s Desk: Thankfulness (11/18/16)

Dear B&F Colleague,

Next week we celebrate our Thanksgiving holiday and I, for one, am looking forward to getting together with my family in Texas. I’m grateful for the opportunity to balance work and family, something I have worked to improve over my career.  This week I just want to share a few other “thanksgivings” that are top of mind for me right now. With Veterans Day last Friday, I’m thinking about the many veterans in our community – thank you for your service!  I’m also thankful for the leadership of our provost, Martha Pollack, who was named the new president of Cornell University earlier this week. And as many of us look forward to having a few days off next week, I want to recognize our colleagues in B&F who will be at work over the Thanksgiving break to make sure that our systems and facilities continue running smoothly. On behalf of all of us, thank you.

In the spirit of giving back, I’d also like to encourage you to volunteer to share your creative talents or public service interests with our community at the MSTAFF200 Bicentennial event next June by completing this brief survey.
I won’t be sending an email next Friday, so when you hear from me again, it will be December. Can you believe that?  As, always, I welcome your comments and questions. Feel free to email me, or use this link.
I wish you all a safe and restful Thanksgiving.

Best regards,

Kevin P. Hegarty
