In recognition of the exceptional efforts of university employees during the COVID-19 pandemic, earlier this week we announced that eligible faculty and staff will be receiving three additional paid days off during the upcoming holiday breaks. I could not be prouder of the way all of you have supported our campus and continued to Make Blue Go during this very difficult time. I hope you enjoy this much deserved time off — YOU ROCK!!! I’d like to give a special thanks to our B&F colleagues in University Human Resources and our financial teams for their work to help make these additional season days possible.
As I’ve said before, it’s also important to acknowledge that this has been, and continues to be, an extremely stressful situation. At our most recent leadership forum, members of our executive team reflected on the past eight months and discussed how we can best navigate the uncertain road ahead. If you haven’t had the opportunity to watch the recording of this conversation yet, I encourage you to do so. I am grateful that we have such caring and thoughtful leaders in our organization. As always, if you need support, please utilize the many resources that are available for university employees.
Finally, I just want to say thank you to all of you who exercised your right to vote. Growing up in a military family, I was raised to understand the sacrifices that have been made by countless Americans to protect our democracy. Regardless of political affiliation, I am encouraged to see so many Americans participate in our nation’s democratic process. As our campus prepares to honor Veteran’s Day next week, I want to personally offer my deepest thanks to all of our B&F staff who have served our country.
With much appreciation and gratitude,
