The new Trotter Multicultural Center will officially open next week at a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, April 11th. If you haven’t been by this beautiful new facility on State Street, I encourage you to check it out – it’s really incredible! It is one of the many investments the university is making to create a more welcoming and inclusive environment for all students. I want to give a huge shout out to our colleagues in Architecture, Engineering and Construction for their stewardship of this project, as well as thank everyone else across B&F who was involved with the construction and financing of this important building on our campus.
Spring is finally here! (Sort of.) To mark the occasion, Finance hosted its annual Spring Fling. Staff from across Finance gathered in three different locations to celebrate the end of winter, spend time together, and enjoy delicious food. And yesterday, here in my office, we partnered with the Provost’s Office to host a Game Day lunch to kick-off the Tiger’s baseball season. There was great food and a fun time was had by all. These kinds of events are so important – not just because they’re enjoyable, but because they allow us to get to know each other and build relationships.
As I always say, the “secret sauce” of the University of Michigan is its people. Spending time together makes a difference, and it’s one of the best things we can all do to create a more positive and inclusive place to work.
With much appreciation and gratitude,
P.S., Please post for staff who don’t have regular access to email.
