Every time I get out on campus and meet with a B&F team, I am reminded of the incredible impact we have on every aspect of our university community. This week, I had the pleasure of visiting our North Campus maintenance team who attend to nearly 2,500 work orders a month! What a great group of dedicated and skilled people who take care of our campus in so many ways. A huge thank you to this team for inviting me out and for all they do to support research, discovery and education on North Campus – YOU FOLKS ROCK!!!
Speaking of gratitude, our student interns Chelsea Hamm and Aliyah Mitchell spent the summer capturing photos and talking to many of you about your purpose at the university. Like many students, Chelsea and Aliyah couldn’t imagine what it takes to Make Blue Go when they first came to B&F. But through the Purpose Project, they realized that their incredible student experiences wouldn’t have been possible without each of you. As a thank you, they created a wonderful video about YOU. I encourage you to watch the video and read the touching “love letter to B&F” they wrote as the script. (Warning: Get out your Kleenex!) Please join me in thanking Chelsea and Aliyah for this amazing gift and the opportunity to see the importance of our purpose through the eyes of students.
Today, I’ll be starting my holiday vacation back in Austin with my family, so you won’t hear from me until after the break. Over this holiday season, I hope you spend time with those you love and have a memorable and joyous holiday season. I look forward to seeing you in 2019 and to the terrific year ahead!
Thank you for all you do to make this university great and for creating such a wonderful place to work.
With much appreciation and gratitude,
P.S. Please post for staff who don’t have regular access to email.
