I hope you had a chance to read my message on Tuesday, in which I announced that I will be retiring from my position as EVPCFO at the end of April. It was a difficult decision as I will truly miss the opportunity to work with all of you, but I know that it is time for me to be with my family in Texas full-time. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to wish me well. I am so grateful for your encouragement and support.
I want to encourage you to consider participating in the President’s Commission on Carbon Neutrality (PCCN) virtual information session, on January 21. The event will provide a high-level overview of the PCCN’s draft proposals, which outline a potential path for U-M to reach carbon neutrality. Our own AVP for F&O Hank Baier and Andy Berki, director of the Office of Campus Sustainability, serve on the PCCN. Please join me in thanking them and their fellow commissioners for their dedicated work on this extremely important and complex topic. You can register for the event or learn more about the PCCN and its charge on the Planet Blue website.
Last, but not least, I want to remind you that next Monday is MLK Day. Please plan to attend the university’s MLK Symposium if your schedule permits and visit our website to sign up for the B&F-wide discussions. Hope to see you there!
With much appreciation and gratitude,
