I am excited to tell you that the University of Michigan was once again ranked 15th on the list of the top universities in the world. The Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings includes the top 100 most prestigious universities globally. U-M is one of only three public institutions in the U.S. to make the top 20. I hope you take as much pride in this news as I do. The work each of you does to Make Blue Go provides the resources and environment necessary for our university to deliver excellence in research and teaching, making rankings like this possible: you are the difference between good and great! What an amazing achievement for our entire university community!
And speaking of amazing achievements, I had the pleasure of presenting the Voices of the Staff Champion Awards at the Voices annual meeting earlier this week. These awards recognize remarkable individuals who, through their service, generosity and leadership, support the Voices mission of staff engagement and help make the university a better place for all of us. Two of our B&F colleagues in University Human Resources, Joan Curran and Diane Vasquez, were recognized with the Champion Award for their management of the Voices program. The incredible impact the Voices volunteers make would not be possible without the behind-the-scenes work of people like Joan and Diane. Please join me in congratulating them on this wonderful honor – YOU ROCK!!
The peony garden at the Nichols Arboretum is in full bloom. If you’ve never been there, I highly recommend it. Our campus is absolutely beautiful at this time of year, so I encourage you to get out and enjoy it. It is a great opportunity to become MHealthy too!!!
Thanks for all you do to make this university great — the 15th top university in the world!
With much appreciation and gratitude,
P.S., Please post for staff who don’t have regular access to email.
