From Kevin’s Desk: It’s up to us (3/29/19)

Dear Colleagues,
Happy Friday!
I hope you all had a chance to see President Schlissel’s message earlier this week about the university’s new Ethics, Integrity and Compliance website. From keeping the campus safe to preventing fraud, the work we do in B&F is critical to maintaining the highest standards in education, research and patient care. If you haven’t already, please watch this short video and think about your role in “doing the right thing” here at the university. My goal is to nurture an environment where each of you feel you can ask questions and report concerns! These new resources aim to make that easier.

I bet many of you didn’t need to see Coach Beilein in that video to have March Madness on the brain! Last week I had the pleasure of attending a March Madness event that was put on the by the Wolverine Tower Wellness Committee, which includes a number of B&F staff. As these great photos show, in addition to NCAA basketball on the big screen, there were healthy smoothies, coloring, nerf basketball, a cornhole tournament and the opportunity to try on Active U t-shirts for size. They handed out bags of homemade bean and barley soup mix and I made mine this weekend. It was great! I am truly blown away by all the creative ways you support each other to be happy and healthy at work! WoTo Wellness Committee . . . YOU ROCK!!!

And speaking of basketball, I encourage you all to check out the Army-Navy wheelchair basketball game at Crisler on Saturday at 3 pm. It’s a great event for families, and an opportunity to honor military veterans and promote disability awareness. The game is free and un-ticketed. Drop by if you’re looking for something worthwhile and fun to do this weekend!

With much appreciation and gratitude,

P.S. Please post for staff who don’t have regular access to email.
