From Kevin’s Desk: Investing in Blue (11/8/2019)

Dear Colleagues:

Happy Friday!

Last month marked the 20th anniversary of our Investment Office. What started as just six employees in 1999, the Investment Office now consists of 22 employees who together steward our $12.4-billion endowment. This world-class team is truly setting the standard for the management of university endowments nationally. You can learn more about the history of the Investment Office and see pictures from their 20-year celebration event on our website. Please join me in congratulating our colleagues at the Investment Office for an amazing 20 years and thanking them for their incredible work to support the university’s mission – YOU FOLKS ROCK!!!

As many of you may have heard, Vice President for Student Life Royster Harper will be retiring at the end of the year.  If you have a chance, I encourage you to check out this great interview with her featured in the Michigan Daily. Countless students, staff and faculty have benefitted from Royster’s leadership and dedication over her tenure at the university. Royster has been a wonderful colleague to me and to so many other people on our campus.  I will dearly miss her.  If you have a chance please do drop her a note of appreciation and thanks for her wonderful service to the campus and for all of us!

Wishing you a fantastic and, I hope, snow-free weekend! Thank you to all our teams who were up early this morning working to ensure a safe campus for all of us. I walked to work this morning and can testify that winter is definitely upon us!

With much appreciation and gratitude,

P.S., Please post for staff who don’t have regular access to email.
