On Monday, 11 individuals and three teams received 2019 Staff Impact Awards. These awards celebrate staff who make an impact through service, collaboration and innovation. I want to congratulate all the recipients, but especially our B&F colleagues: Tim Wood from Staff HR and Dave Reid and Nick Kaleba from HR Communications! And I’m so proud that MHealthy’s Project Healthy Schools received the President’s Staff Award of Distinction. If you’re not familiar with this awesome program, here’s the nomination video about their amazing work. Please join me in congratulating our colleagues on their awards and thanking them for their dedicated service to U-M and the community. YOU FOLKS ROCK!!!!
May is National Mental Health Month. As U-M staff, we have access to a wide range of free resources that support mental and emotional well-being through MHealthy and the Faculty and Staff Counseling and Consultation Office (FASCCO). These include in-person counseling, mental health screenings, classes, support groups, and more. Whether it’s to manage stress, cope with loss, or address anxiety or depression, we all need help sometimes. If you’re struggling, I encourage you to take advantage of the compassionate, confidential support that’s available at the university. Learn more about these programs here.
Lastly, I want to give one more shout-out to those of you who served as employee engagement survey liaisons. These folks worked across the organization to ensure that all 2,700 staff knew about the survey, how to take it and when – and they made sure everyone received a water bottle! I look forward to sharing the survey results with you later next month. Thanks again for taking the time to provide your feedback, and for supporting our work to create a positive workplace for everyone.
With much appreciation and gratitude,
P.S., Please post for staff who don’t have regular access to email.
