Today students, faculty, and staff arrive at U-M with an average of 3-5 wireless devices and high expectations. They expect to connect to the WiFi network anytime, anywhere on the Ann Arbor campus. U-M is not alone. The Educause IT Issues Panel rated the demand on campus Wi-Fi networks as the number one IT challenge facing higher education. According to PC Magazine, 90% of college students say WiFi is essential to their educational success, and faculty agree. The Information and Technology Services (ITS) networking teams in partnership with Plant Operations are working hard to continue to meet this demand.
