Telling his story of diversity, perseverance, and human potential, keynote speaker Teja Arboleda performed in front of an estimated 775 attendees as the keynote speaker for the 2016 Business & Finance MLK Convocation on January 18, 2016. The author, professor, tv director/producer and performer shared his life story, inspiring attendees as he talked about growing up as a multiethnic, multicultural and multiracial American. An additional estimated 230 people joined the performance via live-stream online, bringing the total attendance to around 1,000 people. Pre-show entertainment was provided by the high-energy Afro-Cuban rhythms of the latin jazz quintet, Los Gatos. The event was organized by the Business & Finance Diversity Committee and was sponsored by Office for Academic Multicultural Initiatives, Office for Institutional Equity, College of Literature, Science, and the Arts: Human Resources, and the Stephen M. Ross School of Business.
