Last weekend, our university community celebrated the Class of 2020 at a virtual graduation. While the all-online festivities were certainly different this year, the significance of the occasion was no less monumental for our graduates. You can read more about the 2020 commencement in the University Record, which featured former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, notable alumni and many others, or watch video highlights from the daylong event. Educating the future leaders of our society is one of our core missions as a university. I couldn’t be prouder of the work you do to help make that possible. Thank you for all the ways you Make Blue Go for students!
Several of our student interns across B&F graduated this spring, including Amy Zhang, one of our EVPCFO Office interns. Amy put together a thoughtful reflection on her time with B&F and what she’s come to appreciate about the work that is done by each of you. We’ve posted it to our website if you’d like to read it. Please join me in congratulating Amy and the entire class of 2020.
During the month of May, UMSocial is featuring essential staff on the University’s Instagram channel, including many B&F staff who have remained on campus throughout the pandemic. This special daily photo series includes quotes from featured staff reflecting on their work and these challenging times and is intended to recognize the unwavering commitment of our university’s essential staff. You can follow the entire series on Instagram and see all of the images in an online gallery. And if you haven’t yet watched their wonderful essential staff video, I encourage you to check it out. Thanks to UMSocial for including B&F staff in this cool project!
With much appreciation and gratitude,
